But to not say, oh, my parents weren't killed in front of me at age 6 or I wasn't sold into slavery as a teenager, so my problems don't exist.
It's been so challenging for me to sit in the duality of honoring my pain and also stepping into action regardless.
The comparison is definitely a paralyser for many. Because indeed our 'peril' doesn't seem as bad as someone else's, and yet it is so real to our being and impactful in our existence.
I often wonder if stepping into action is the most honouring thing we can do for our pain, even if that feels counterintuitive...
